Louis XIV and the clergy

While King Louis XIV was in power he forced people to convert to catholicism. Not only did he do that but he offered money to those who did convert. He would send troops to take over households that were protestant, in order to get them to convert to catholicism. The way he did this was smart but at the same time it was wrong because the people were not able to believe in what they wanted. He forced protestents to leave to go to other countries. He was an unfair king who wanted everything his way.

Thirty Years War

Tensions between reformers and catholics was part of the reason of the thirty years war. New parts of christianity were coming into play and it caused many to go away from the Catholic church. Results of the war were diseases being spread throughout Europe. Because of the new denominations of christianity many were trying to find who the wanted to follow which pulled them away from the Catholic church. Leaders left to so they could rule thier countries themselves. The thirty years war caused a lot of problems with Europe because of the religions.
